About us
freedns.my is a free second level domain registry: names, DNS and mailboxes cost nothing and need no card. It is run by volunteers and kept alive by donations and a small amount of advertising.
Our team:
- Peng (Site Owner & Developer)
- XiaoFeng (Multilingual Developer)
- XiaoQin (Promotion)
- ZheZhi (Admin)
- Kaige (Admin)
- Amx (Reviewer)

It is free, so where does the money come from
The names are free, but running a registry is not: registration, DNS service, servers, the mail service and backups all cost money, and so does the time it takes to keep them working. There is no paid tier here, and no plan to turn anybody's data into income.
Advertising income (counted by the site itself)
This figure comes from the site: only orders that were really paid for (paid, running, or finished) are counted, so it cannot drift away from what was actually received.
Donations, one by one
No donations are recorded yet (or none are published yet). When there are any, the amount, where it came from and what it was used for are listed here; a donor who prefers to stay unnamed is listed as "anonymous".
Expenses, one by one
No expenses are published yet.
How to donate
The ways to donate are not published yet. Write to the address in the footer and we will tell you.
What we promise about this page
- The figures are honest: advertising income is counted by the site, donations and expenses are written down by hand one by one, foreign amounts are converted at the rate of the day, and a mistake is ours to correct.
- A donation buys no privileges: no faster review, no preferred server, no influence on any decision about a request.
- Advertising is kept apart from review: an advertiser follows the same rules and is taken down like anybody else, and advertising never influences a decision about a name.
- Data is not for sale: user data is not sold or traded, and this site runs no third-party tracking code.
- A surplus stays in the project: it goes towards next year's registration, servers and mail service, never to anybody's pocket.
If a figure looks wrong, write to the address in the footer: we check it and correct it.
