Work with us

freedns.my is a free second level domain registry run by volunteers, and it is not a company: there is no payroll, no fixed roster and no office. What keeps it going is people who find the problem interesting. Where help is wanted - Backend / PHP 7.4+: the publishing path (Cloudflare and DNSHE), the mail service we now run ourselves, quotas, review flows, and the small tools that hold it all together. - Frontend: fast, readable pages with no JavaScript, that work on a phone and in an old browser. - Translation: Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Malay. The framework is in place; the wording is not. - Documentation and community: guides for holders, and answering questions in the groups. - Operations: abuse reports, advertising orders, partnerships, and keeping the changelog honest. How it works in practice - Nobody is asked for a fixed number of hours. Pick something small, finish it, tell us what you did. - Contributions are recorded in the changelog; there is no pay (the project is free and stays free). - Access to the back office is granted per area, and only after somebody has worked with us for a while. - If you are learning, that is fine: say so, and start with something small and reversible. How to get in touch - Mail: the address in the footer of every page. Say what you would like to work on, and what you already know. - Groups: the QQ group and the Telegram group linked in the footer, and on the front page. - Advertisers: this page is also where the advertising slots are explained - the slots on this site are for sale, and a plain link exchange is welcome too. Write to the same address.
